IB Mission Statement

The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.

To this end the organization works with schools, governments, and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment.

These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate, and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.

The IB Programmes

IB’s academically strong programmes provide a forum of inquiry and opportunities for the development of critical thinking and reasoning skills. These skills are balanced by school-wide practices that encourage diversity and foster personal integrity, mutual respect, and development of self-esteem.

The International Baccalaureate consists of four comprehensive programmes

  • The Diploma Programme (DP)
  • The Middle Years Programme (MYP)
  • The Primary Years Programme (PYP)
  • The Career-related programme (CP).

These programmes are designed to educate children around the world into globally conscious members of society.

The IB at ISSR is made up of three programmes

  • Primary Years Programme, PYP
  • Middle Years Programme, MYP
  • Diploma Programme, DP.
