Life after ISSR, further studies
The IB diploma is a passport to higher education. Universities around the world welcome the unique characteristics of Diploma Programme students and recognize the way in which the programme helps to prepare for university education.
Studies in the world
DP students routinely gain admission to some of the best-known universities in the world. For example, Oxford University (UK), the University of British Columbia (Canada), the University of Aukland (New Zealand) and Harvard University (US) have established recognition policies for the diploma.
Studies in Sweden
Many DP students continue to Swedish universities after graduation from ISSR. For example
- Stockholm School of Economics (SSE/ HHS)
- The Royal Institute of Technology (KTH)
- Lund University
- Jönköping University
- Uppsala University
- Karolinska institutet.
The DP, like all national Swedish programmes, meets the general requirement (allmän behörighet) for applying to Swedish universities.
How to apply
As a Diploma holder you apply in quota group 1 and receive merit points (meritpoäng) according to the same criteria as other applicants with exams from the national programmes.
- Students applying to bachelor programmes taught in Swedish must take Swedish A, Standard level or High level.
- Students applying to bachelor programmes taught in English do not need to meet the requirement for a grade in Swedish.
Student advice
Of course, we will help you with your application for universities in Sweden or abroad. As a student at ISSR you will have access to BridgeU a student advice, guidance university tool.
