Life after ISSR, further studies

The IB diploma is a passport to higher education. Universities around the world welcome the unique characteristics of Diploma Programme students and recognize the way in which the programme helps to prepare for university education.

Studies in the world

DP students routinely gain admission to some of the best-known universities in the world. For example, Oxford University (UK), the University of British Columbia (Canada), the University of Aukland (New Zealand) and Harvard University (US) have established recognition policies for the diploma.

Studies in Sweden

If you plan to continue your studies in Sweden, the DP, like all national Swedish programmes, gives you behörighet to Swedish universities. As a Diploma holder you apply in quota group 1 and receive meritpoäng according to the same criteria as other applicants with exams from the national programmes.

Consequently, it is neither easier nor more difficult to get admitted to Swedish universities with an IB Diploma. It is easier to succeed academically once you are there, as you are used to that way of studying.

Student advice

Of course, we will help you with your application for universities in Sweden or abroad. As a student at ISSR you will have access to BridgeU a student advice, guidance university tool. Watch the BridgeU film to find out more what this tool is about and how you can use it for your future university search.
